Antifoamer 720 is a non-ionic, concentrated, 100% active low foam polyalkylene glycol based surfactant. lt is an exceptional antifoam either alone or as part of a formulated product.
Antifoamer 720 has been specifically developed for the suppression of foam in the sugar-beet processing industry,particularly in low temperature applications.

Dosing & Formulation:   

Antifoamer 720 should be added continuously by means of a micro-metering pump into areas of high agitation to ensure optimum dispersion of the product. Dosing points should ideally be as near as possible to where foam generation is most problematic.

Antifoamer 720 may be used as a concentrate or may be formulated with natural fatty acids such as tall oil fatty acid (TOFA) to reduce product viscosity and aid product handling. A typical formulation would consist of 40% of Antifoamer 720 + 60% TOFA, with properties given below:

Applications:

Antifoamer 720 offers superior antifoam and defoaming characteristics once dispersed throughout the sugar-beet transport / washing system.  lt is designed to remain active in cyclic transport systems for several cycles of transport water and offers minimal environmental effects due it its inherent partial biodegradability.

When starting up the plant using Antifoamer 720 , a higher dosage than normal should be applied to ensure the entire system is adequately treated. This may be reduced after one cycle (5 - 7 hours).

Continued additions provide a "top up" function as the product works throughout the system for many cycles. Antifoamer 720 has proven to be effective over the temperature range 5 - 26ºC and over a wide pH range.

Storage:
Keep only in the original container in a cool. well-ventilated place
Keep away from heat 
Protect from direct sunlight
When storing in tanks above 60 °C, cover with a layer of nitrogen-protective gas
Do not store together with reductants.
Do not store together with oxidants.

Handling:
Ensure that workrooms are adequately ventilated.
Avoid spraying/aerosol generation.
Use adeguate ventilation and/or engineering controls in high temperature processing to prevent exposure to vapors.
